Ripon Cathedral Choir School

Our Pre-Prep department is a dedicated, caring environment where solid foundations are built in order to prepare each individual child for a life long love of learning. Our small class sizes enable us to cater for each child’s individual needs, (recognising that, no child is exactly the same). We aim to foster respect for ourselves and others, taking into account the environment around us.

Our classrooms are well equipped and homely with spacious play areas. We currently have three classes in our department and each is taught by an enthusiastic and supportive teacher. The children are taught through a cross-curricular approach using a different topic each term. Research has shown that topic based learning is a much more enjoyable and valuable way of learning for young children.

Although the majority of the children’s lessons take place with their form teacher, our specialist upper school staff teach the children French, Music, P.E, ICT and Games.

The photographs show many of the wonderful activities that the children enjoy, but to get a real feel for our friendly, family atmosphere come and have a look around the department for yourself and maybe join in an activity or two.
