Yesterday the girls had a sunny afternoon playing on a large astro pitch. They played two teams – one of Year 8 pupils and the other, like us, a mixture of Year 4 – 7 girls. Unfortunately the Year 8 pupils were too much for our team even before they stepped on to the pitch. Once the game started only Isabella and Hester had the guts and determination to try and battle to win the ball, while Malsis used skill and ball control to dribble round our girls and score several goals before we had even thought to defend. Thankfully the younger girls, in particular Zara and Beatrice, led the way. The final score was 7 – 1.

The second match was much better balanced and the team showed what they are capable of. They won the ball and passed it down the field, although they do need to look to see if they are passing to a player. Final score a victory to the Choir School 2 – 0.

Man of the match: Hester Churchouse for never giving up and being prepared to play in several different positions.
