Do you remember maths lessons on a warm sunny Friday afternoon when all you could think about was the weekend and the exciting things you could do? That certainly was not the case, last Friday, even with the prospect of nearly two hours of maths.

Inter-generational Sports Morning PDF Print E-mail

A report from the inter-generational sports: Where was Mr Capello?

Inspite of glorious weather only a few members of the older generation took the opportunity to showcase their skills. Those of you who were missing from the football field will not be going to South Africa! Messrs Elvidge, Spackman and Smith rolled back the years in a demonstration of rare ability. Young Spackman relied on all of his experience and created a formidable barrier to the young marksmen by lying down in front of goal. Mr Smith proved to be a great dribbler and his no holds barred approach made a real impression on the boys (let’s hope they have recovered). The top keeper was undoubtedly Alex Broadley. Such was his skill that the Alice Page was not able to distribute all of the prizes available for shooting. Special mention to Hugh Hollins for winning the dirtiest kit award (also his uniform). Football was followed by tag rugby which was beyond your feeble correspondent who retired to the French cafe, but not before visiting Mrs Coram and Mrs Shanahan on the netball court who were showing the girls how they won county and national honours at netball.
